Phoebe Cheuk

Phoebe is a registered Sports Physiotherapist in Australia, a current holder of Titled Sports Physiotherapist granted by the Australian Physiotherapy Association, Registered International Sports Physical Therapist granted by the International Federation of Sports Physical Therapy, and accredited in Acupuncture by the Hong Kong Physiotheraphy Association. She graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1995 and attained the Master degree in Sports Physiotherapy at Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia in 2001. Since then, Phoebe has been working in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapist field both locally and overseas.

 

Prior joining PhysioTune Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre, Phoebe worked in Sports Medicine Department of Hong Kong Sports Institute from 2004-2009 and in HKPU from 2009 as Deputy Director of Chan Sui Kau & Chan Lam Moon Chun Centre for Sports Rehabilitation. Where in both positions, she had provided high-level services to coaches, elite Hong Kong and China Top – notch athletes for sports injury prevention & management, rehabilitation & performance enhancement combined with innovative clinical research. Phoebe served as the Team Sports Physiotherapist in various Asian & World Championships, appointed as the Hong Kong Medical Team Delegate in Doha Asian Games & Beijing Olympic Games. She was later appointed by the Guangdong Sports Bureau as the Sport injury and Rehabilitation Expert for the China Team athletes in 2012 London Olympics. With her rich professional and clinical background, Phoebe was also appointed as clinical educator for the physiotherapy undergraduates and postgraduates of HKPU, and for the postgraduates of CUHK, invited clinical supervisor of collaborated teaching with Sun Yat Sen University.

 

Phoebe like hiking and is a keen scuba diver. Her clinical interest is managing clients with various musculoskeletal problems like postural muscular pain, mechanical neck and back pain, peripheral joint muscular dysfunction, and other sports related injuries. Her approach include a detailed physical evaluation, analysis and clinical diagnosis with focus on identifying the underlying possible structural, biomechanical and movement coordination mismatch.  Phoebe believes active therapeutic approach is a key to achieve an individualized injury prevention and dysfunction management both for athletes and those who enjoy active life style. Phoebe is a native Cantonese who speaks excellent English and Mandarin.
